The Importance Of A Good Stance

No two golfers are ever the same; everyone is different and that's what makes golf what it is. Everyone has different strengths and weaknesses--styles and techniques. Some are better at putting and others have a great stance.

Although the stance is effective in the same way, some people will prefer their stance to be different from others, so they can play with more power or more control to give them a specific advantage over other golfers.

If you want to further your golfing career and improve your game, you should spend some time perfecting your stance. Not only will this maximize the efficiency of every swing you make on the course, but it will also increase your overall enjoyment of the game.

You should first get the grip you prefer and then set yourself up with a stance that feels comfortable; if you are uncomfortable, then chances are your shot is going to make you even more uncomfortable.

Many golfers will see the traditional stance as the best way to go, but feel free to make little changes to the stance if it improves your game. To try the general stance that most golfers use, you should stand tall with your heels about a shoulder's width apart. Bend slightly from the top of your hips and keep your back straight. Let your arms hang down, but don't let your chin tuck into your chest.

Before you swing, make sure your weight is equally- distributed between both feet; and also make sure your weight rests on the balls of your feet.

Remember that this is just the standard stance used by many successful golfers. If you play better using a different stance, then by all means keep it.

Your stance is important for every shot you take, so make sure the stance you are using now is actually the best possible stance for you; otherwise, you will add strokes to your game every single time you swing a club.
